Hi, I’m Fran and thanks for visiting my website. I'm a Qualified Counsellor and provide one-to-one talking therapy for adults. I’m here to listen and support you as we explore your path together.
Counselling with me can offer you the opportunity to pause and reflect, find joy, build confidence, develop ways of coping with life’s challenges or explore how to move towards the life you want.
My approach is warm and compassionate to help you feel truly heard and accepted. Whether you’re struggling with challenging feelings, relationship difficulties, loss, health concerns or simply feeling stuck, we can work together at a pace that feels right for you. We can explore your thoughts, emotions, experiences or goals.
Our work together is guided by what matters most to you.
I'm experienced in supporting a range of people from various walks of life in areas which include:
Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
Anxiety / feeling unable to relax
Bullying
Cancer / challenging feelings arising from a diagnosis
Carers looking for support
Depression
Feeling sad or unhappy
Grief, loss and bereavement
Life transitions such as University / study stress
Living with chronic illness or physical pain
Low motivation
Low self-esteem / feeling bad about self
Neuro-affirming therapy / ADHD / Autism
Perimenopause & Menopause
Relationship difficulties
Stress / overwhelm
I welcome contact from all clients but have particular experience working with people who are affected by cancer, chronic illness and other health concerns through working as a volunteer Counsellor at Macmillan Cancer Care and another local charity. I support people who have had a diagnosis, are undergoing or recovering from treatment, adjusting to life after treatment or are receiving palliative or end of life care. I can help with challenges arising from this such as changes in body image, relationship issues, health anxiety or bereavement. I have also worked with clients who may be supporting a loved one who is receiving treatment.
I draw on different approaches to tailor our work to your needs. At the heart of my practice is working collaboratively and building a trusting connection where you feel heard, accepted, and empowered to move forward in a way that feels right for you.
I use Person-Centred, Psychodynamic and CBT approaches to give support that’s unique to you.
Sessions are available in person at my therapy room in Mossley Hill, Liverpool (L18), online (UK wide) or over the phone — whichever suits you.
I offer a free initial 20 minute consultation by phone. This gives you the opportunity to see if working with me feels right for your needs. I can also answer any questions you may have about the process.
If you decide my approach feels right, we can then book in for a full therapy session. It's £50 per session and each session is 50 minutes.
If it turns out that I'm not the best match, I can refer you to a trusted professional colleague who can support you with next steps.
Before our first session - I will send you a copy of my Therapeutic Agreement to read through at your own pace, which sets out further information about the sessions. I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have and we can both sign this.
During our first session - We can explore what has brought you to counselling in more depth and begin to consider what you'd like to gain from our work together. We can gently check in with how you feel things are going after several sessions to ensure you're gaining the most benefit from the support.
